I hope you will be interested and entertained with the following pages.
The purpose of this site is for me to not only indulge and reminisce
but to also share with you over seventeen years experience
in exhibiting at championship and open shows, breeding a little,
and the fun of owning and loving a handful of bichons.

                             "ARJANAN"

This is my Kennel Club registered Affix and was adopted
in memory of my mother Jane, who loved this breed of dog
so much.

The Ar is for my father Arthur
Jan for Jane my mama and the
 An is for myself Ann

Golden Wedding Anniversary

The breed standard calls for a “Gay, happy, lively little dog with a temperament that is friendly and outgoing”.
There are no impersonators or sissies’ living at Arjanan and each and every bichon has its own personality and character
which includes naughtiness and loving natures!

Home is in rural Hertfordshire just a few miles from the Dunstable Downs
and ten miles from the Abbey and Cathedral City of St. Albans.

The village of Markyate where we all live is renowned for its “Wicked Lady”, Lady Katherine Ferrers (Born in 1634).
Through boredom she became a highwaywoman in her “spare time” and astride her horse would hold up the
stagecoaches using the main London road. She was eventually shot and fatally wounded but today’s locals say that
she still haunts her home, Cell Park, and the main London Road through Markyate…....
I myself have yet to come across her!

So on to the pages and thank you for visiting
